The images within this book represent the adversity, celebration, repentance, and growth that the Israelites went through in the physical and spiritual work of rebuilding the temple once they returned from exile to the promised land. Two sets of photographs are featured in this book. In each, the treatments of the fabric are reminders of God’s presence with His people throughout the highs and lows of returning to Jerusalem. One set shows dyed cheesecloth that is twisted, tied, and tattered, indicating the struggles, complexities, and hardships that come with the process of God restoring His people. The second set shows those same pieces of fabric layered together, representing the wholeness found in God’s restoration. In all of the images, the vibrant shades of green signify the flourishing, growth, and joy of participating in God’s purposes and plans.
